You should be concerned with networking on the social networking sites and joining groups within your niche. Make friends with webmasters and when you need some links they will be more than happy to give them to you. There is also quite a few bloggers among the social websites and if you win over a few in your niche you will open up the possibilities of guest posts and other link opportunities so keep your eyes out when speaking with the online communities. Personally I use twitter and other social networking sites to get in touch with my traffic rather than using them to drive traffic. I prefer to speak and ask my traffic how they found me what they like on my blogs and what they would like to see changed. You can also set up customer report on twitter or run surveys on your products on facebook.
